"I just love creating birds"

I started creating paper birds in 2012. I was in my second year of Community College and was part of the Goodwin Art Gallery in Stockton. My main medium was painting and sculpting but my work blended in the background.
One day I was sculpting a bird, and it was getting heavy and fragile with all the delicate detail. Using what I had, I decided to to make its feathers from a book and glue them to my sculpture. Creating my first piece the "White Crow". The gallery loved it so much and ever since I expanded and experimented.
I now 3D model my pieces and 3D print them so they can be light enough to not need a base or canvas. I use a laser cutter to help with repeating designs and patterns. There is still a lot of steps I do by hand and if I decide to recreate a piece it will be unique and not exactly the same.
