Christian V. Davila, Mix Media Artist
"I just love creating birds"
I am Christian Victoria (Bique) Davila, a Mexican-American artist currently residing in Chico, CA since 2014. I have a deep appreciation for nature, particularly birds, and an avid interest in Digital Fabrication Technology. My artistic vision is to seamlessly blend the natural world with technology, creating works that captivate the imagination and inspire wonder.

Originally, in 2012, I crafted my bird sculptures from clay and meticulously cut book paper by hand to create texture and dimension. As I honed my skills over the years, I began experimenting with various mediums, and in 2017, after two years of studying 3D modeling at Chico State, I started creating bird models on the computer and printing them on a 3D printer. With the help of a laser cutter, I am now able to design and cut out wings and tails, which has streamlined the process considerably.

Despite these technological advancements, I still use numerous handcrafted techniques, ensuring that each piece I create is unique with my personal touch. Even if I were to recreate a previous work, it would never be exactly the same, and that is something I take great pride in.
