Christian V. Davila, Mix Media Artist

"I just love creating birds"

My name is Christian Victoria(Bique) Davila and I am a Mexican-American living in Chico, CA since 2014.
As a person who enjoys nature especially birds and have a huge interest in Digital Fabrication Technology. My goal is to blend nature and technology in a subtle way.
In 2012, I was making my birds out of clay and cutting book paper by hand, but over the years I started experimenting with various mediums. In 2018 after 2 years in Chico State learning 3D modeling, I started sculpting my birds on a computer and printing them on a 3D printer. Cutting feathers by hand isn’t as tedious as before since I learned to use a laser cutter to help me design and cut out wings and tails.
There is still a lot of steps I do by hand and if I decide to recreate a piece it will still be unique and never exactly the same.
